Apple previewed its latest iOS 6 operating system yesterday June 11th and wowed crowds with an impressive feature set. Amongst the massive list of new features, Apple introduced items such as Facetime over Cellular, an improved Siri implementation that now has information on sports scores and restaurants, and much much more. Apple also introduced Passbook, a digital wallet of sorts that easily organizes Movie tickets, boarding passes, and various other cards and is open for development to any company who wants to bring their ticketing or card systems to the App. The biggest highlight of the day was the debut of Apple’s new in-house Google Maps killer which finally brings native turn by turn navigation to the iPhone. It also features impressive 3D flyovers, 3D buildings, and Siri integration.
With my phone being registered with a Developers account I have gotten my hands on the first iOS6 Beta one to test out and I can say that so far it is very flawless and runs faster then ever. I will update more along the summer of the updates until the final release in the Fall.
